OK...so I have said all along that I wouldn't post personal images.....

but today I rode in a 50 mile bike ride and I WAS SO PROUD of myself and ourselves that I could roll around in the grass like a kitty in the sunshine!!!! My friends Sherry {right} and Jamie {left} rode with me and we had a FABULOUS time...minus the thigh screaming hills afer mile...oh about 32~~~

So what we are not super speedy!! We finished in 4 hours and I think that's pretty good considering the lack of hard core training!!

Well.....except Jamie...who is a personal trainer...

but I think we all did GREAT!!!

Here are a few more pics from the ride!! Mind you I couldn't take too many as I never put my feet on the road except for twice at the scheduled SAG stops!!!

Oh and what do you think my friend Sherry and I did at the end of 50miles........you guessed it went and drank some yummy wine and ate some super naughty pizza at the Stray Dog in New Buffalo!!!!!Wish they had a link...but they didn't!!!

{relaxing: simpledaisy style}

I love to just sit around and read…I would read book/magazines for a whole day if my husband would let me!! Oh…and I love the drink wine!! I think reading and sipping wine go hand in hand!!
I recently found one of my favorite wines that I hadn’t been able to find in a while….

I love this wine…well truthfully because I love the label!! See I am not a wine snob..rather I chose my wine based on the label and well hope for the best!! This wine {Flourish} is perfect…it’s organic and I love the label!! Simpledaisy loves butterflies!!

So..remember sometimes you just need a break to sit around, read books and sip some yummy wine…..

Oh and if I felt like being really naughty I would include some of this in my relaxing day....

Whew...finally I can really talk about autumn since it's here now!!! I love autumn. It is second only to summer!! The smell of camp fires in the air, the cool air, the bright blue skies, tailgates. autumn leaves, chili, smores, cozy sweaters, reading books on a rainy afternoon.....I could go on and on!!! Here are a few things simpledaisy style that remind me of autumn!!!

Well...I just finished my very first show!!! Now I have had a home show in the past..but not a show like this!! I have to say that I really don't think it is for me...

Now don't get me wrong I think I did get some nice exposure, etc but I think I would like to focus more on my etsy shop and maybe getting simpledaisy into some shops!! SOOO...if any of you own a shop or have friends that own a shop send them my way!!! Anywho...here is how I displayed my simpledaisy jewelry.....

I received a ton of compliments on my display and my jewelry but not a lot of sales???? Of course for some reason these photos didn't turn out as well as I had hoped! Owell!!

I recently received a custom request for a bracelet!! It was for a birthday and she wanted something sparkly and sapphire like...oh and she was a jeans kind of girl!! Mind you I am totally undecided if I will move towards doing custom work or not..but I thought hey this might be kind of fun!! Plus she said my key word...sparkly and threw in my other favorite thing {jeans}!! Well here is what I came up with.....

I just came across a super cute blog {midwest modern girl}!!! Anywho... she had a post on saving all of the random odds and ends that we come across on a daily basis!! What a great idea! Think of how much inspiration we could gather from the colors or print that others use for their design work!! I know I am ALWAYS on the lookout for good design!! So..it is a super crummy day here in the midwest!! I should be out tailgating with my husband but I opted to instead stay in and create!! At least for a little while that is.....

But you'll just have to be patient until we get some sunshine!! It is near impossible to photograph jewelry on a cloudy day!! I guess I will have to invest in some lighting and learn some different techniques!!

Ok...well it is absolutely POURING rain this morning and so I am happily surfing the blog world and listing jewelry in my shop .I'm reading posts on How about Orange and come across Colorstrology on Pantone's website! I think to myself..well this is surely really silly but I gave it a whirl and.....Not only is my color blue {my favorite color}!! But it talks about my drive and energy and that my color reminds me to appreciate my gifts!!! Well I am busily working on my display for the upcoming show and in addition to my table I will have 2 frames filled with simpledaisy!! I love to collect vintage frames and then paint them, of course, aqua blue!! I thought I would hang the jewelry on my cards with clothespins...keeping the theme of simple..fresh..pretty!! I think it sort of looks like fresh jewelry out on the line to dry!!!

Oh and I am soooo excited I sold two more pieces of simpledaisy!! Yeah and thank you!! Sometimes it really does pay to keep plugging away at your dreams!!

When I first began on my jewelry making quest I had a lot of trouble defining simpledaisy style..First, I thought earthy, then trendy, then frilly and finally I settled on pretty.simple.fresh!! Style has always been challenging for me..I don’t always seem to give myself enough credit for even having a style..but I do! In fact, my style greatly matches simpldeaisy syle..very simple with a little bit of sparkle and shine! I rarely wear patterns and generally stick to white, black, brown and denim and of course aqua blue!! But I do love to accessorize with jewelry and here are a few things you might see me wearing!! Oh and I also love a bargain…so all of these are under $30!!! So go ahead and own your style and of course accessorize it with simpledaisy!!

In my quest to get my line of jewelry off the ground and running, I am always thinking of creative ways to get my name out there!! So, I thought of putting my jewelry in a basket and having friends take simpledaisy with them to work!! For a commission of course!! Anywho..here is what I came up with.....

I have to say that I have a special place in my heart for adopted dogs!! We adopted our dog from the local Humane Society and she is the best dog ever!! In fact, her name is L.C. which stands for last chance because she was there so long that we thought we might be her last chance! and look at her now.....

Maybe I should add a little simpldaisy bling, bling to her collar!!!

Ok...I know what your thinking...don't rush the season!! But I love autumn and I love changing the decor of my home with each season. So out goes the summer themed items and in comes the autumn themed decor. I love everything about autumn and i'm sure i'll be posting much more as the season draws nearer!! I love simple styling and am not one to wear too much jewelry...but for some reason I have really been into layering my jewelry!! And have gotten quite a few compliments I might add!!!

I stumbled onto wordle just a bit before I started this blog!! I love wordle..it is so fun to tinker around with creating different word combinations and you could print what you create to frame!! So simple and so fun!!!

{dreams}

It great to have dreams, goals and aspirations!! But at the same time it can be completley scary!! It took me exactly 1 year between the time I registered my name with ETSY and listed my first piece of jewelry! For me, it takes a lot of thinking about how I want things to look and what my ideas are...sometimes it's hard to remain true to your own vision of things...so it's best to take things slow and really think about your overall goals.

OK well...let's just say if I ever did grow enough to have my own catalog this is an idea of what I might want the cover to look like!!!

Not at all perfect...but I love to just tinker with that idea!! You never know where things might take you!!! Have a super great day!!

{garden bounty}

Ok..well I have to admit that I am totally addicted to working in my yard!! This is the first year that I have actually planted vegetables and I am so proud that I am actually harveting a little!! I have made some really fabulous bruschetta from my garden tomatoes and basil and have made all sorts of zucchini dishes!!

Last year I planted birdhouse gourds and had a blast decorating them over the winter...I even painted some silver and covered them in glitter for the holidays..very cute..now this year I didn't plant the gourds but some volunteers did spring up and well...I didn't take them down!! I love to sit in the hot tub and look up and see gourds dangling from the arbor.

NO I don't still have my glittered gourds on display in my house..but I should!! I love glitter..I would glitter everything if I could!! Maybe that's why I love to design and make jewelry....stay tuned because I just received a shipment of goodies, so i'll be creating away tonight.....
