{jewelry give-away}

Hello and Happy Wednesday to you!
I am so happy to off official work since it gives me extra time to focus on simpledaisy.....yeah:)
I have been making a few sales here and there and I can't even tell you how happy that makes me!

I am getting ready to take a new jewelry making class next week! It's a 6 week course more on metalsmithing, etc. I can't wait to see what I learn....I have had several ideas swirling in my head and can't wait to share them with you!

And guess what else....

I have been trying to buy this for about 4 years and one day I woke up and checked on it......and it was for sale!!!!!!!

Maybe one day I will have my very own website! I just need a designer to help me. I spent 4 hours yesterday trying to teach myself how to turn a wordpress template into a website.....couldn't do it so I gave up:( So right now it's linked to my etsy shop.

{riding & trunk show}

Good Morning to you!!
What a weekend it's been.

In true simpledaisy style I thought it would be great to get up early Saturday morning to do a 20 mile ride with a friend:) All this before I headed out for the simpledaisy trunk show the same day!!
It was just such a gorgeous morning. I was so happy we decided to ride. Here's what you'd see if you headed out to the country in Indiana:)
Lots & lots of farmland!

It was a great morning & even though we were pretty slow it just felt nice to get out on my bike for the first ride of the season!!

Now I am starting to feel the 100 miles in my future.....stay tuned:)

I told you I was going to do a trunk show at a friends house.

Well.....i'd be lying if I told it turned out as I had it planned in my mind! It was cold and gray outside and not a lot of people came. Good thing I had my trusty wine:)

You know I picked this wine for the label......I thought it would be perfect for this event!!!

Even though not a lot o people came.... I was SUPER thankful for the wonderful people who did come and who were kind enough to purchase a few simpledaisy pieces!! I hope I made them super happy!!!!!!!

My friend who hosted the trunkshow also had 2 other talented women bring their merchandise.....

We all set up on her deck!! It was so cute. She has the most cozy backyard.

So completely adorable! Her company is named Girlogik & she makes all sorts of girlie things:)

Stefanie was also there with all of her amazing things she makes in her studio!

I wasn't able to get as many photos of her set up because she came a little late and I had already had my camera put away....

All in all it was a really wonderful time! It was all set up like a cute little shop in the French Quarter. Plus shoppers got enjoy some delicious appetizers and vino. How could that not make you happy??!?

Makes me want a cute little shop of my own......maybe someday:)

{trunk show}

Hi there and How are you doing?!?!?

I'd be lying if I said all was peachy here in Indiana:(
Let's see.....I am finally recovered from the half marathon but I am still feeling like po*p from this cold/sinus infection.
AND the sun hasn't shown it's pretty little face in WAY too long:(

But on the bright side....yes there is ALWAYS a bright side:)
I've been really working hard on lots of pretty new designs for the simpledaisy trunk show this weekend!!!! Especially since I am not tempted to be outside soaking up the sunny days.
WOOHOO!!

I recently stopped over at Beach House Living and noticed she was doing lots of stamping on different things.... {so cute}
She totally inspired me to get back into my stamping:)
I haven't done it in awhile....
What do you think!?!?

I thought it would be cute to do some stamping on something other than necklaces.....sooooo I put this cute little stamped "sea" on a bracelet with ocean blue chalcedony:)

I sure hope someone likes this little beauty at the trunk show:)

I wish it were easier to list everything on etsy but it just takes so darn long....plus I don't want to take the time to list everything since I am hoping to make lots of people happy with simpledaisy jewelry at the trunk show!

I also have to tell you....I was on the phone with my best friend this morning....having a bit of a debbie downer moment about simpledaisy.....you know feeling overwhelmed and worried about if it really is all worth it...

and you know what she told me.......to just focus about how happy I make women feel when they put on their simpledaisy jewelry in the morning or whenever:) I make people feel good about themselves.....yes I do!!! Who doesn't love a new little pretty to brighten their day! Right?!?!!

She told me to NEVER give up on my hopes & dreams.........

Thank goodness for best friends:) Do you have a best friend that supports you through all of your crazy adventures?!?!?

Anywhoo......remember I told you that I am sticking to creating the kind of jewelry that makes my heart sing...

{What to Wear: Simpledaisy Style}

Well hello there & happy Wednesday to you:)


There was a time when I thought I might just give up on simpledaisy....the blog...the jewelry....all of it....but then my husband told me to NOT give up on my dreams and he encouraged me to stay focused .... which is very hard for me to do:)

So...I have stuck with the jewelry and have been working really hard on creating my "brand"....what simpledaisy is all about:)

I think lots of people try to be everything to everyone. I don't want that. I think of it as this, do I want to be a cover band....willing to play whatever everyone wants me to play or do I want to be my own band....creating the kind of music I enjoy...even though not everyone will like it.


I choose the later.
And, I am so happy with the way things have been turning out for simpledaisy....the blog & the jewelry.

I have come to realize that there are some pretty darn nice people out there who appreciate my kind of "music!"


I recently sold a pair of earrings to the Tia of The Cottage by the Sea {you should stop by and say "hello" if you get a chance} and she was so happy with them that she did an entire post on it!!! It made me so happy......
It's reasons like that ....that make me really stop and think to myself.....that I am NOT giving up on my dreams of one day creating full time!!!


So thank you....thank you....thank you.....blogger friends for stopping by and leaving me nice comments!!!!!! All the things you write really keep me moving onward towards my hopes and dreams!



OK now.......
I love...love....love simple interiors....
you know the kind that you just feel comfortable the instant you walk into a home...
the kind where if you spill a little wine it won't be a big deal....
the kind with simple color schemes that reflect calm and simplicity....


here's what I mean~

See....comfortable and yet still stylish...
Don't ya just want to hang out and drink some wine in one of these spaces?!?!?!

Just so happens I like my clothes to be the same way....
comfortable....stylish...but NOT trendy!
The kind that I can spill a little wine on and still look OK!! haha

I don't follow trends....ok maybe a tiny few...but not many.
I prefer to keep it simple...
An outfit that mimics the kind of interiors I love.

Here's a little outfit that I think ROCKS!
Start off with some basic khakis.....

throw on a plain but still cute white shirt....
put on some brown sandals...

add in a super cute starfish belt in either of the colors I pointed too...

{oh and honey, if you read this blog....please....please....please.....buy me one of these amazing belts...they ROCK}


and now....for a little pop of color....
sprinkle in a little jewelry......simpledaisy, I might add::)

I would probably only wear earrings and maybe a bracelet with this ensemble...
something like this if you're in a turquoise mood ....... or something like this.....
if you're in a ocean blue kind of mood....

or just mix and match them.....everything doesn't have to matchy, matchy all the time:)

There you have it....simple interiors reflected in a simple outfit!!!!! That's also the process I go through when I sit down to create jewelry. I cut out photos of outfits I like then I create the jewelry that I would wear with them:)

I have been working on updating simpledaisy on etsy. I want it to reflect more of the vision I am striving towards.
Whenever you begin a creative endeavor I think it takes time to really define your style...To really decide what you do and do not like.. To really take into consideration all the opinions that many will give you..but in the end only you can decide what you want.
That's the thing about being a creative soul......you can get a million ideas from others but it really takes "something" to truly make it your own.
You can't copy that:)


Here is the older version of my product styling......

It's not bad but I just don't think it truly reflects the feeling I want you to get when you click on simpledaisy. And it doesn't really make the jewelry stand out. I think you notice the background more than you notice the jewelry.

Again....not bad. But I just think it looks pretty jumbled!
I wish I were a graphic designer or somebody that knew a whole lot more about this stuff than me:)
I am not....but I think every once in while I come up with some pretty good ideas:)

Here is what I came up with for the new simpledaisy product styling~

I really think it makes the jewelry POP! And it reflects the peacefulness of the ocean.
{pretty.simple.fresh} that's the feeling I really want you to get when you click on my shop.

I love how calm feeling it looks!

But more importantly....what do you think??????

I know not everyone is into blues, greens, clear crystals.....but I am and that's another point of doing something that truly reflects me.
I can't be everything to everyone and I am now at the point to be OK with that!!!
I design jewelry that truly makes my soul sing:)

I think etsy is great for me. Maybe someday I will have my very own website.....
maybe someday i'll be able to do this full-time....
but for now I really feel like I am working towards solidifying my style. A style that is unlike anyone else's:)

{seaglass wreath}

Well hello and how are you this fine Sunday!?!?
I just walked in from a 7 miles run!!! Yippee...I was pretty glad I did it without dieing:) Should've had the hubby take a photo...owell:)

Yesterday I went and got beautified with a cut and a highlight!


She put bangs in and really blonded it up!! Don't you just love it when the stars align and your hair actually turns out the way you picture it in your mind!!
I like mine slightly messy and short! I think it says i'm fun and don't take life too seriously!!

What do you think about the bangs??? Oh and don't look too closely at my wrinkles.
Geesh where did those come from!?!?

I love...love..love a fresh hair cut and highlight!! I just wish it were free:)

I also spent the weekend tinkering with simpledaisy and taking photos of the new jewelry i've been making!!!

but my friend is having a simpledaisy trunk show coming up...so even if I don't get it all on-line I will still be able to sell it there:)

I love making jewelry and I love styling it for photographs...so fun:)



I also made a new happy little wreath for my laundry room {which is ALMOST finished}
So simple.....

Get some seaglass and a wreath form...

pour a glass of vino and grab some chips....

and hot glue away.....

Oh I was at my friend's house and funny thing is....
her dogs like to help too:)

But I love dogs {you know that} so I didn't mind the extra help.
anywho....
here is the finished product!!


can't wait to finish the laundry room so I can hang in there and show you!!
Oh I should say....it is HEAVY so be careful when you hang it!!!!

I love it....I think it's super beachy and the colors are just perfect!
