Happy Friday to You!!!!
It's been tough here.....snow ... snow...and more snow!
But I am holding steady.....
working extra hard in my studio and just spending my days dreaming of all things beachy and happy:):)
How about you!?!?!?
Oh how I would love to live near the sea...but I don't. So I have to bloom where i'm planted!!
And part of that is trying to enjoy the snow! I would much rather just wish January away....but then I would just be wishing my life away!!
This January I am really trying to stay focused on all the happy positive things going on with Simple Daisy!!
I don't know if you follow along on facebook....
but I have mentioned that Simple Daisy is now on.....
Caron's Beach House
and
Outer Banks Trading Group
YEAH!!! Now you have even more Simple Daisy shopping options:):):)
Makes me so proud and happy.
And you know what else makes me proud and happy!! All the happy, cheerful comments you leave me!! I love it! If words could only tell you just how happy you make me!!!!
And now onto Fresh Friday!!!!!
You know...I have a little winter *love* i've been talking about....and so i've had to cut back the starchy carbs! I just love them too much to portion control them....and since i'm not going to give up my vino {remember I tried that already} the starchy carbs have to be cut back:):)
But you know what gives you the feeling of eating something heavy and naughty....portobello mushrooms!!!
I l.o.v.e them:):)
So....here's what I made!!!
This was just ridiculously good.
I mean rock your face of kind of good!!
This really just hit the spot for me! I also made a few roasted veggies to go along with it and it really filled me up:):)
Ok...so let's see whatcha got!!!
Share your Fresh Friday recipe on my linky party!!!
Grab your glass of wine and let's PARTY!!!!!!
Oh and don't forget to link back here:) That's just the nice thing to do!! Right!

ReplyDeleteThat looks exceptionally yummy...wine and all! I love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Heather-
ReplyDeleteWe have tons of snow her also, and more is expected next week. I don't mind a snow day or two, but this is getting to be a bit much.
I am going to try your Poratbella mushroom tonight for dinner. It looks delish. I love all the ingredients so I am sure I am going to enjoy it. I also found a great inexpensive Shiraz from Coastal Ridge. I will pair the mushroom with that. Can't wait until tonight!!!
Hope you have a great weekend.
My best- Diane
Love your snow angel and that mushrooms looks divine!!
ReplyDeleteCute snow angel. You are so brave :)

YUM! I've got nothing this week but you are definitely encouraging me to get back in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute in the snow! How are LC and Ruby.
and I know what u mean about the vino, I can't cut it out either. I love it more than carbs too. But it was a TOUGH choice cuz I luv me some pasta.
You are so cute doing the snow angel! :) I am trying hard to get through winter as well and January is almost done, we are getting closer!!:)
ReplyDeleteThe recipe looks so good, I love mushrooms!!
I was just looking at portobellos yesterday and thinking "those look tasty". Although I hate fennel so will sub something and maybe gorgonzola which I'm have a "thing" with lately.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your snow. Without it, how would you know the depth of your love for its opposite?
I am loving your snow photos. We haven't had a flake here...yet.
ReplyDeleteYour portabello recipe looks fantastic with the fresh fennel!
I was taking a few shots of seaglass and rocks in a bottle last night and I was thinking of your beachy blog. I just love hopping over here for my dose of happy thoughts and beachy (and snowy) shots.
Happy Friday!
Love the portobello idea! Actually don't think I've ever made anything with them..., it's about time then. Uhhh, and I had some fun in the snow yesterday..., shoveling a narrow path from the house down to the driveway..., wait for husb to shovel out the parking..., the snow is really heavy. Happy Weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks absolutely AMAZING and I will try it this weekend!
ReplyDeleteHeather, I am so happy for you! Your dream is coming true...featured in some very special places. (Here's hoping Coastal Living will feature you, too!!!)
ReplyDeleteThis recipe looks scrumptious! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Hope the snow doesn't get you down...keep dreaming of the sea.
Hugs,
Jane (artfully graced)

Great post...sorry about all that snow...I guess you don't want to hear that I will be at the beach for the next couple of days and it's going to be 70 and sunny...shame on me for telling you this. I wish I had something to link up, but I don't have one thing:(
