{Fresh Friday}

Happy Friday!!!
Guess what.....We have a winner of the beautiful Simple Daisy necklace give-away!

Here's the pretty little necklace that Heather of A Day in the Country won:):) I am so happy for her!
Feel free to stop by her little happy space and say "hello"!!
In her own words....
"I'm a magazine stylist and story producer for home decor and gardening magazines. I'm also a mom, an organic farmer, and a spectacularly delicious pie maker. I've launched a line of jams and chutney named Missing Goat. "     How Awesome:):):)

I am just so happy to feel like I am finally moving in the direction of my dreams! And I have you to thank for that:):)

I loved all of your responses to my give-away question! Thank you!
One thing I heard a lot was that you really loved my Fresh Friday posts!!!!
I love them too and have decided to try something new with them!
Have you heard of linky parties....well of course you have:):)
What do you think about a Fresh Friday linky party!?!?!?

I think it's a really fabulous idea to start the weekend off with tons of fresh and healthy recipes!!!
I'll give you more party details below!

Unless you are super disciplined...you're probably a lot like me....I ATE my way through the holidays and am more than ready to lose the little extra winter {love} i'm carrying around!

It was even worse this holiday season because I skipped almost 4 weeks of working out due to being busy, vacation, being sick, etc. :( :( :(

Well....I can tell you ...if you're new to working out or just getting back into the swing of things...
DON'T start off too hard!
I started back this week and just did half of what I was doing 4 weeks ago.
Half the workout...half the weight!
That way I don't get too sore when I start back:):)

But really...I am SOOOO happy to be back to my workouts! A little running and a little p90x!

Thank goodness I have a treadmill and the p90x dvd's....because the gym is always crazy busy this time of the year.
Too bad all those people don't stick with it....but I am kind of glad they don't...more room for me:):)

And I have to start running more because I signed up for a half marathon in May!
I know..I know...all I did was complain about it last year...but there is just nothing like the feeling you get crossing the finish line of something that was challenging to you!!! Makes me super happy!
You can read about it here!

Are you signed up for anything this year!?!?!?

Notice my tiny weights....only 5 lbs. Next week i'll move up...but I never like to get too sore...so I always start off slow!  How about you!?!?!?

And with all the healthy working out....it's sooooo important to eat right too!
For me....I have to really stick to ...not too much starchy carbs and LOTS of veggies to lose weight!

enter...low carb soybean noodles!! L.O.V.E. them! and they are gluten free...if you watch that sort of thing!
Only 17 grams of carbs and 20 grams of protein!
YUM:)

And be sure to stop by and say "hello" to everyone!! It is a party after all!!!!
And mostly....enjoy learning about what others do to stay fit, healthy and HAPPY:):)

  1. Yay for starting back into the weight training. I am signed up for my first half marathon in March so I'm a bit freaked about that. Started a running plan and then it gets cold, snowy, icy. Talk about timing LOL. That pasta dish looks so good.

  2. I love Fresh Friday's!!! So happy that they are back : )

I am seriously thinking about training for a 1/2 this year. The finish line would definitely motivate me for sure!

Working out, being healthy (mentally and physically) and exercise are some of the best feeling things ever. I can feel it in my body and my mood when I get too slack about it. I love the idea of "sprinkling" yoga...too cute!

  5. Good motivational post! Love the Jack LaLanne quote. He and his wife are incredible people.

I just had my fish for lunch...cooking collard greens for dinner (yep...the southern belle is rising in me again).

  7. Hi Heather - Love the idea of sharing healthy recipes! I have linked to one of our favorite grilled recipes that I posted earlier this summer. I also placed your Fresh Fridays link on my sidebar so that my friends will visit and hopefully share their recipes also~~

I love the recipe that you posted -where would I buy those soybean noodles - seriously doubt that they have them at my grocery store!

    Lets get healthy together!

  8. Heather - thank you so much for the inspiration today! I needed that! I've gained some "love" over the holidays, too...and I HATE working out! But I know that I'm not alone in the battle of the bulge and you're helping me to stick to my healthy eating/workout regime. Thank you!!! By the way, love your biceps in that one photo! Rockin' hard, girl!! lol!

  9. Great Idea! Can't wait to see all of the great recipes! I began a workout this week and have been sore for the last two days, but I lost 3 more pounds this week so that will keep me striving for more.
