{seaglass vase}

Hello and Happy Friday to you!!
Guess what.....we have a winner for one of my sweet little stacking rings:)

Be sure to stop by her blog and say "congrats!!!"

That was a fun give-away!! Thank you so much for participating and for your feedback I always appreciate it:)

You know how much the summertime makes me happy!
I just love it...
many mornings I pour a steaming hot cup of joe and just take a little nature walk around my yard! I love to see all the new activity....flowers blooming, the rabbit chew marks on my hostas, broken robin's eggs from sweet little birdies hatching. It all just makes me stop and really appreciate the simple things in life!

And I just love when I come to this little patch of my yard....

I have to tell you....this has been one of the best years for my hydrangeas!!! They are in full blooming bliss and they make me so happy every time I walk past them:)

These are actually my grandma's hydrangeas! She gave them to me about 11 years ago....I dug them up, planted them at our first home and then when we sold I dug them up again and moved them here! They make my heart very happy:)
My husband thought I was nuts....but I even had it written into the contract when we sold....the hydrangeas go with us:)

I thought it would be a perfect complement to make a happy little seaglass vase to display them in!

The aqua blue of seaglass matches the pale blue of the hydrangeas perfectly! And best of all.....I have something to use in my home that cost only $10.00!
Flowers....free
Vase...I had
Seaglass & glue....$10.00

Not bad for something that makes me smile:)

Simple & sweet....just how I like everything!
Perfectly NOT perfect and just very simple:)

Oh and you know what else I love....driftwood.
I think it's just so cute tied in little bundles and put on display around my home!
Another thing that's pretty much free!!

Well there you have it.....a simple little craft to occupy your time this weekend!!!

I know i'll be spending lots of time making jewelry!!
I have lots of ring designs just flying through my mind!!

Take care and enjoy your weekend:)

  1. Hi Heather-

I am not sure what image I like the most - all of your designs and photos are just beautiful. I love the sea glass. Where can you buy that? Craft store?

Hydrangeas are my favorite and I would have written them in the contract to take too. Just so pretty.
    Enjoy your weekend.
    My best- Diane

  2. Love the vase! It's unusual...and quirky...and just my style. Unfortunately, I do not have those beautiful "hy-jane-geas"* to put into it. Gosh, those hydrangeas are gorgeous!!! I cannot get them to grow in this sandy coastal soil...darn!!!

*My boys learned flower and tree names by relating them to people and words they know...ie Jacaranda is "Uncle Jack and Aunt Anne-da", "Nasty-urtiums", "ger-jane-iums". To this day, they refer to plants by these names...with a twinkle in their eyes and a smirk in their smiles.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  6. your hydrengas are beautiful! i planted some here but have had the toughest time getting anything to grow in our front yard. A landscaper told us it is because we have a HUGE oak tree in our yard that drops a lot of little leaves and they produce all kinds of tanins? Do you have any knowledge/advice on that? You seem to have such a green thumb!

As always, what a cute craft. Oh, and the shop is looking amazing...full of really beautiful stuff!!!

  9. Hi Heather! AT first glance I though you had a vase full of sea glass, but to glue them on sounds like a great project too! I love your yard, I like to step outside with my cafecito too. You just inspired me to add some flowers inside my casita. Hope you have a fab weekend!

  10. Love the sea glass vase. I made a sea glass wreath to put on an awkward wall space in my condo that I didn't know what to do with and I loved it... it was so easy to make. I think I might piggy back off your idea and cover some old pickle jars and such in sea glass and fill with pretty flowers!
